  • Super Blue Moon over Runswick Bay Headland

Super Blue Moon over Runswick Bay Headland

Last night I had walk up the the cliff top facing south over Runswick Bay, this was an ideal place I thought to capture the Super Blue Moon. I anxiously waited as it was to officially rise at 20:17pm, It eventually appeared over the headland around 8:31pm. I was very impressed as firstly the top of the moon showed with an intense red then eventually to what you see here. A Super Blue Moon is not blue, so anyone hoping to see the Moon tinged the colour blue will be disappointed. The name of the Moon has nothing to do with colour but instead is so called because it does not fall in the usual scheme of named moons, the Moon is near the closest point in its orbit around Earth. The next time a super blue moon will appear is in 2037.

A grim day here with the thick fog off the North Sea , if one takes the trouble to venture out , even my trusty iPhone can take a splendid RAW file in these conditions. Edited solely in Adobe Camera Raw. Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max: Wide Camera — 26 mm ƒ1.6

    Fog Newton Moor

From my regular morning walk , the light was stunning , those small hawthorns are probably 80+ years old, perished and bent over from the cold north wind in winter, but all my are my friends.

    Two Pines Roxby Moor

A bleak wet rainy day on the moor today but I took my Sony A7R IV along with the 100 -400 F4 lens and captured these two Scotch Pines which dominate the Landscape . There is something quite magical about days like these . I was not alone, as behind me, is an old Anglo Saxon burial mound who's sprits kept me company.
